Help CLS Show Rider Sarah Martin earn UPHA Ribbons of Service
CLS Show Horse Rider Sarah Martin is participating in the UPHA Ribbons of Service Program this year. (Sarah, we're so proud of you!)
The UPHA Ribbons of Service program provides equitation riders an opportunity to compete for scholarships by volunteering in the community and fundraising for a charity selected by the rider. Individuals and businesses pledge $10 or more per class to sponsor a rider for the show season. The rider shows in as many equitation classes as possible to support the charity - usually about 10 classes per year. All sponsorships are 100% tax deductible.
By participating in the UPHA Ribbons of Service Program, Sarah pledges to:
About the Charity "Feeding the Orphans"
Feeding the Orphans is a non-profit organization that raises money to help children in Ghana, Africa. They do things such as plant and grow crops for the children to eat, dig wells so children can have clean drinking water, support orphanages to provide for children who would otherwise live in the streets, and help employ African women so they can earn an income to provide for their families.
Sarah say, "I would like to raise money for this charity because I would love to know that the money that I have collected is helping these children, who are currently lucky if they get one simple meal of bread and unclean water each day. I also want to raise money for this charity because I hope to go on a mission trip to Ghana next year to help build a school and dig wells for these children. Thank you for helping me support these children in Ghana!"
Pledge sheets can be found in the office or by e-mailing Parker at parker@cashlovellstables.com.
By participating in the UPHA Ribbons of Service Program, Sarah pledges to:
- I will dedicate all of my rides to the orphans in Ghana.
- I will serve our community with at least 100 hours of volunteer work in 2011.
- I will represent CLS and all CLS riders to the best of my ability.
